WHAT IS MICROBLADING?
Microblading is a highly accurate, semi-permanent form of cosmetic tattoo. It fills in sparse eyebrows in a natural-looking way, creating the illusion of more hairs on the brow. Microblading and other forms of cosmetic tattoo are meant to look natural, and enhance your features in a subtle way. A hand held tool is used to manually create hyper-realistic hair strokes. Although microblading is a permanent service, results usually last 1 to 3 years depending on skin type and aftercare compliance.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO HEAL?
The healing process usually takes a total of 4 to 6 weeks. Your brows will appear darker than normal for the first 2 to 5 days. There may be minor swelling and irritation which is completely normal. The color will flake off, appear softer and less visible during the healing process. In the following days, the pigment will reappear.
HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR MY APPOINTMENT?
24 to 48 hours before your appointment, please make sure to avoid blood thinners, alcohol, ibuprofen, and any other pain relievers. Consumption of caffeine the day of the procedure may increase discomfort levels and blood flow. Exercising before the brows are done flaking will result in poor healed results. Retin A and fish oil must be stopped at least 10 days prior to the service. Botox administered within three weeks before the appointment will result in a reschedule. It is not advised to have your brows done before a vacation.
DOES IT HURT?
While everyone’s pain tolerance varies, I numb my clients with topical numbing cream, and I use another numbing solution throughout. The feeling has been described as a 1 on a scale of 10 for pain.
HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?
Proper aftercare will keep your pigment from fading. Usually, microblading will last 1 to 3 years. However this can be affected by the use of harsh topical skin care around the area, unprotected UV exposure, and improper aftercare.
CAN I CHOOSE MY SHAPE?
I provide each of my clients an in-depth brow mapping and analysis. We will both work together to outline the perfect shape of brow that compliments both your facial structure and your personal style.
IS IT REVERSIBLE?
Receiving a permanent cosmetic procedure should be considered carefully and thoughtfully through. Any pigment being placed under the skin is permanent. There are a few different ways to lighten and lessen the pigment, however the results are never guaranteed and can be very damaging to the skin. Do not go into an appointment with the thought that it is reversible.
CAN ANYONE HAVE PERMANENT MAKEUP?
Please be advised that permanent makeup is a form of tattooing and there are some medical conditions and medications that prevent clients from getting the service. If you have any questions, please email or call. Occasionally, a doctor’s note can be accepted for special cases.
